What is the largest four digit number that leaves a remainder 4 when it is divided by 36, 48 and 64?

Solution:

LCM of 36, 48, 64 is 576.

17 × 576 = 9792; 9792 + 4 = 9796

9796 is the largest four digit number which when divided by 36, 48, 64 leaves a remainder of 4 in each case.
