Determine the Thevenin’s equivalent resistance (in ohms) across the terminal a and b for the electrical circuit given below.

Solution:

In order to find the thevenin’s equivalent resistance, voltage source is short circuited and current source is open circuited.

1/R=1/3+1/3+1/3=3/3

∴R=1Ω

∴R_\ab={1×1}/{1+1}=1/2

= 0.5 Ω
