What is the radius of a circle to the nearest cm, whose area is equal to the sum of the areas of three circles of radii 13 cm, 17 cm and 22 cm?

Solution:

(1)Area of big circle

= π(13)^2 +2π(17)^2 π (22)^2

= π (169+ 289 + 484)=942π

Now, radius of big circle (r) =

√{942π} /π 30.6 ~ 31cm

(Hint: r =√{ Area}/π)
