A person wrongly calculated his profit on selling price and according to him, his profit percentage was 25. What was his actual profit percentage?

Solution:

(4) Let S.P. = ₹100
Profit = 25% of 100 = ₹25
C.P. = 100 – 25 = ₹75
Profit is calculated on cost price,therefore, actual profit percentage

=25/75×100

= 33.33%
