In a mixture of 25 litres, the ratio between acid and water is 4 : 1. Another 3 litres of water is added to the mixture. The ratio between acid and water in the new mixture is

Solution:

(1) Acid in the mixture

4/5×25=20

liters
Therefore, Water = 25 – 20 = 5 liters
After adding 3 liters water of mixtures,
new Ratio is 20 : 8 = 5 : 2.
