hours. All of them begin the work at the same time. Find out how much time they will take tofinish the piece of work.

Solution:

(2) (A + B)'s 1 hour's work is

2/9

(B + C)'s 1 hour's work is

1/3

and (C + A)'s 1 hour's work is

4/9

.
So, adding all the three, we get,

2(A+B+C)= {2}/{9}+ {1}/{3}+ {4}/{9}

= {2+3+4}/{9}=1

(A+B+C)= {1}/{2}

Therefore, A, B and C together will complete the work in 2 hours.
