(4) Let the incomes of A and B be 2k and 3k and expenditures be e and 2e, respectively.
A saves: 2k – e = 24000
B saves: 3k – 2e = 24000.
By solving above two equations, we get:
k = 24000 and therefore, A’s income is 2 × 24000 = Rs.48000.
