Solution:

Let the length of side of two squares be

, respectively.Given, ratio of areas of two squares

=16: 1

⇒

{a^{2}}/{b^{2}}={16}/{1}

\⇒({a}/{b})^{2}={16}/{1}

\⇒({a}/{b})={4}/{1}

∴

{4 a}/{4 b}={4 ×4}/{4 ×1}={4}/{1}

∴ Ratio of their perimeters

=4: 1
