Solution:

(1) Area of circle

=\π r^{2}

⇒ \π r^{2}=324 \π

⇒ r^{2}=324

∴ r=√{324}=18 {cm} .

∴Length of longest chord of circle = Diameter = 2 × 18 = 36 cm.
