A mobile shop owner sold two mobiles MI pro and Honor 7x at the profit of 30% and 20% respectively. The profit got by shop owner on MI pro is Rs. 250 more than the profit got by shop owner on Honor 7x. If selling price of MI pro is 25% less than that of selling price of Honor 7x , then find total discount allow by mobile shop owner, if he would sold MI pro at 10% discount and Honor 7x at 15% discount on their cost price?

Solution:

Let cost price of MI pro and Honor 7x be Rs. 100x and Rs. 100y respectively.
Total profit on MI pro

= 100x × (30 ÷ 100) = 30x

Total profit on Honor

7x = 100y × (7x = 75 : 100 = 3 : 4

So,

(100x + 30x) : (100y + 20y)=3 :4

13x = 9y

13x -9y = 0

From (i) & (ii)
x = 225 Rs. & y = 325 Rs
Total discount allow by mobile shop owner, if he would sold MI pro at 10% discount and Honor 7x at 15%

=225×100×10100+325×100× (15 ÷ 100)

=2250 + 4875

=\Rs. 7125
