Average age of some employee in a company is 48 years and sum of age of eldest employee and youngest employee is 82 years wild difference of age of eldest employee and younger employee 34 years, eighteen employees left the company with average age of 36.5 years and four new employees joined the company, in which 3 age is equal to age of eldest employee and one age is equal to age of youngest employee. If the new average age of company employees is 53(8/41) then find the number of employee in company initially?

Solution:

Let number of employee in company initially = ‘n’
Let age of eldest employee = x years
And, age of youngest employee = y years
ATQ,

x+y=82

.....(1)

x-y=34

.......(2)
From both (i) & (ii)

x=58

years

y=24

years

n × 48-18 × 36.5+3 × 58+1 × 24=(n-18+4) ×(2181÷

41)

1968 n-18819=2181 n-30534

2181 n-1968 n=30534-18819

213 n=11715

n=55
