What is the cost price of the article?

Solution:

Let the cost price of the article be

₹ x

.
Here,

{SP}=₹ 1516

Then, profit

= {SP}- {CP}=1516-x

Again,

\;\; {SP}=₹ 1112

Then,

\;\;

loss

= {CP}- {SP}=x-1112

But, profit = loss

∴ \;\; 1516-x=x-1112

⇒ 1516+1112=2 x ⇒ 2 x=2628

⇒ \;\; x=₹ 1314
