Calculation:
From I,
x2 + 5x + 6 = 0
⇒ x2 + 3x + 2x + 6 = 0
⇒ x(x + 3) + 2(x + 3) = 0
⇒ (x + 3)(x + 2) = 0
⇒ x = -3, -2
From II,
y2 - 7y + 12 = 0
⇒ y2 - 3y - 4y + 12 = 0
⇒ y(y - 3) - 4(y - 3) = 0
⇒ (y - 3)(y - 4) = 0
⇒ y = 3, 4
Comparison between x and y (via Tabulation),∴ x < y
