II. y2 – 3y – 40 = 0
⇒ y2 - 8y + 5y - 40 = 0
⇒ y (y - 8) + 5 (y - 8) = 0
⇒ (y - 8) (y + 5) = 0
So, y = 8 or y = -5So, from the above information
