Solution:

(b) Area of path =

22176/1 = 22176 m^2

∴ π

(R^2-r^2)

= 22176
⇒

(R^2-r^2) = 22176/22×7

⇒

R^2-(112)^2

= 7056
⇒

R^2

= 19600
∴ R = 140 m
∴ Width of the path = 140 - 112 = 28 m
