As,

and

8 Ω

are in parallel, so

\;\;{1}/{ {\R}_{ {\P}}}=\;{1}/{12}+\;{1}/{8}

⇒ \;\; \;{1}/{ {\R}_{ {\P}}}=\;{2+3}/{24}=\;{5}/{24}

⇒ \;\; {\R}_{ {\P}}=\;{24}/{5}=4.8 Ω

Now,

R_P

and

2 Ω

are in series, so

{\R}_{ {\eq}}=4.8+2=6.8 Ω
