Pakyong Airport is a greenfield airport in Gangtok, Sikkim. This airport is one of the five highest airports in India and is also the first greenfield airport in the north– eastern region. It is the only airport in Sikkim. Commercial flight operations from this airport have been hampered because of the lack of instrumental landing system, poor weather conditions, inadequate runway space, etc.
