The Chambal region in central India has been affected by severely dissected ravines. Due to regular irrigation in the leveled land of the Chambal region, further erosion as rills and small gullies develop inside the agricultural fields. To cope up with this problem, farmers are practising contour bunding, channelling, gully path modifications, changing cropping patterns and land levelling.
