Khasi language is included in Mon–Khmer branch of Austro– Asiatic sub–family. It is an Austro– Asiatic language spoken primarily in the Meghalaya state by the Khasi people. It is the official language of Meghalaya since 2005. It is written using the Latin and Bengali scripts.
