Solution:

We know that if
a, b, c be the lengths of sides BC, CA and AB,
Length of median

A D=\;{1}/{2} √{2 b^{2}+2 c^{2}-a^{2}}

=\;{1}/{2} √{112}=\;{1}/{2} 4 √{7}=2 √{7}
