Given observation 12, 16, 23, 18, 24, 15
Mean of observations = 18
Deviations from the mean are –6, –2, 5, 0, 4, –3
Standard deviation

=√{\;{(-6)^{2}+(-2)^{2}+(5)^{2}+0^{2}+(6)^{2}+(-3)^{2}}/{6}}

=√{110/6}=√{55/3}
