Solution:

Area of the garden

=2[(17+2x)x+13×x]

=2[17x+2x^2+13x]=4x^2+60x

Now,

4x^2+60x=400

⇒x^2+15x–100=0

⇒(x+20)(x–5)=0⇒x=–20,5

Since x can’t be negative, we have

x=5m
