Solution:

Given :

a^x=b^y=c^z≠0

and

b^2=ac

Let

a^x=b^y=c^z=k

⇒a=k^{1/x},b=k^{1/y},c=k^{1/z}

So,

b^2=ac

[Given]

⇒k^{2/y}=k^{1/x}.k^{1/z}=k^{1/x+1/z}

⇒2/y=1/x+1/z

∴ x, y, z are in H.P.
