The angle between the minutes hand and hours hand when the time shown in the clock is 6.20 pm is

Solution:

Time 6 : 20 p.m.

(6+\;\;{1}/{3})\hr.=\;\;{19}/{3}\hr

Angle moved by the hour hand

=360°/12×19/3=190°

Angle moved by the minute-hand in 20 minutes

=360°/60×20=120°

∴ Angle between the two hands

=190°–120°=70°

Aliter : Using direct formula,

θ|{11}/{2}m-30h|=|\;\;{11}/{2}×20-30×6|=|110-180|=70^{∘}
