A clock is set at 10.00 a.m. If clock loses 3 minutes every two hours, what is the correct time when the clock shows 4.00 p.m. on the same day ?

Solution:

10am – 4pm = 6 hrs.
The time lost in 6 hours

=(6/2)×3

minutes
= 9 minutes
∴ Correct time = 4 : 09 p.m.
