Solution:

Given set = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8}
Total no. of outcomes = No. of ways 3 numbers can be selected out of 8

=^8C_3=8!/{5!3!}=56

Favourable outcomes : (123), (234), (345), (456), (567), (678) i.e., 6
∴ Required probability

=6/56=3/28
