Solution:

Let the usual speed = x
New speed = x - 1
According to the question,

{12}/{x-1}-{12}/x

{24}/{60}

{x-x+1}/{x^2-x}

1/{30}

x^2

- x - 30 = 0

x^2

- 6x + 5x - 30 = 0
(x - 6) (x + 5) = 0
⇒ x = 6 km/hour
