If the ratio of sides of a rectangle is 2:7 and perimeter is 360 m, then find out its length and breadth.

Solution:

Let the breadth and length of the rectangle is 2x and 1x respectively.
Perimeter = 2(2x + 1x)
360 = 2 (9x) ⇒ x =

{360}/{18}

= 20
Length 1 x = 1 x 20 = 140 m
breath 2x = 2 x 20 = 40 m
