The volume of a right circular cone = $=\frac{1}{3}\mathrm{\pi }{\mathrm{r}}^2\mathrm{h}$
⇒ $1232=\frac{1}{3}\times \frac{22}{7}\times {\mathrm{r}}^2\times 24$
⇒ $\frac{1232\times 21}{22\times 24}={\mathrm{r}}^2$
⇒ ${\mathrm{r}}^2=49$
⇒ r = 7 cm
⇒Lateral height = √ $\left({\mathrm{r}}^2+{\mathrm{h}}^2\right)$
⇒ Lateral height (l) = √ $\left(7^2+{24}^2\right)$ = √625 = 25
⇒ Surface area = $\mathrm{\pi }\mathrm{r}\mathrm{l}$ = 22/7 × 7 × 25
∴ Curved surface area is 550 ${\mathrm{cm}}^2$.
