If the volumes of two cubes are in the ratio of 64 : 125, then what is the ratio of their total surface areas?

Solution:

Let the edge length of two cubes be x & y respectively
According to the question,

= 64 : 125
⇒ x : y = 4 : 5
Required ratio of total surface area =

6\x^2:6\y^2

=4^2:5^2

= 16 : 25
