for the given electrical circuit?

Solution:

Applying KVL in Loop 1 we get

-30 + 4 I_1 + 4 I_1 - 4 I = 0

∴ 8I_1 - 4 I = 30

Applying KVL in Loop 2 we get

-4 (I_1 - I) + 4 I + 4 I = 0

⇒ -4 I_1 + 4 I + 4 I + 4 I = 0

⇒ 12 I = 4 I_1

⇒ 3 I = I_1

Solving equation (1) and (2) we get

8(3I) - 4 I = 30

∴20 I = 30

∴I=3/2A=1.5A
