Determine the potential difference (in V) between the ends of a conductor when the conductor has a conductance of 0.4 Siemens and carrying a current of 8 A.

Solution:

Given data
G = 0.4 Siemens
I = 8A
V = ?
Now conductance is reciprocal of resistance

∴G=1/R⇒R=1/G=1/0.4\Ω

Now According to ohm’s Law

V=RI=1/0.4×8=20V
