A train 350 m long takes 36 s to cross a man running at a speed of 5 km/h in the direction opposite to that of train. What is the speed of the train?

Solution:

(1) Putting the given values in thespeed, distance and time formula,we get

t = {L_{train}}/{S_{train }+S_{man}}

[\text "t is time, S isspeed and L is length"]

⇒36/{60 ×60}=350/ 1000/ {Strain+ 5}

S_{train}

= 30 km/h
