A bus and a car are both travelling in the same direction. At time t hours, the bus is ahead of the car by 30 km. The speed of the bus is 60 km/h. At time (t + 2) hours, it is observed that the car is ahead of the bus by 100 km. What is the speed of car?

Solution:

(4) Distance covered by the bus in 2hours = 60 × 2 = 120 km
As car is ahead of bus by 100 kmafter 2 hours, thus, distance coveredby the car in these 2 hours= (30 + 120 +100) = 250 km
∴ Speed of car

= 250/2 = 125 km/h
