Solution:

(4) Let two consecutive evennumbers be x and x + 2.
Average of 2 numbers

= {x + x +2}/2

= {2X+ 2}/2

= x + 1
Let four consecutive even numbersbe x, x + 2, x + 4 and x + 6.
Their average

= {x + x + 2+ x + 4+ x +6}/4

= {4X+ 12}/4

= x + 3
∴ Average increases by 2.
