(3) Let the larger number be x andthe smaller number be y.
Average of 2 numbers = 32
$\frac{\mathit{x}+\mathit{y}}{2}=32$
⇒ x + y = 64   –(1)
If 1 is added to the larger number,the ratio becomes 3:2.
$\therefore \frac{\mathit{x}+1}{\mathit{y}}=\frac{3}{2}$
⇒ 2(x + 1) = 3y   –(2)
By solving (1) and (2), we getx = 38 & y = 26
∴ Larger number is 38.
