The angles of a triangle are given as 4x, 6(x – 5) and ${x ^2+15}/ 4$ . The triangle is

Solution:

(4) The sum of all the angles of atriangle is 180°.

(4x)+ 6( x–5 )+{x^2+15}/4= 180

⇒10x+{x^2+ 15}/4 = 210

⇒ x^2 + 40x – 825 = 0

⇒ x = 15, – 55 (reject)

So, the angles are 60°, 60° and 60°and therefore the triangle is equilateral.
