Solution:

(2) Semi-perimeter of triangle,

{s}= { {a}+\ {b}+ {c}}/{2}= {9+8+7}/{2}=12 {cm}

Area of triangle =

√{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

=√{12(12-9)(12-8)(12-7)}

=√{12 × 3× 4 × 5}=12 √{5} {cm}^{2}
