In ∆ABC, ∠A + ∠B = 145° and ∠C + 2∠B = 180°. State which one of the following relations is true?

CA = AB
CA ˂ AB
BC ˃ AB
CA ˃ AB

Solution:

(4) Given, ∠A + ∠B = 145°, so,

∠ C=180°-145°=35°

And

∠ C+2∠B=180°

,
so,

2 ∠ B=180°-35°=145°

⇒∠ B=72.5°

Also,

∠A=145-72.5°=72.5°

since,

∠ B>\angle∠ C

Hence CA > AB.
