Solution:

(2)Let PRQ be the triangle with angle at R as 90° and PR = RQ.

Area enclosed by the semicircle but exterior to the triangle is,

A= {22}/{7 ×2} × 7^{2}-\ {1}/{2} × 7 ×14

=77-49=28 {cm}^{2}
