=2 \sin ^{2} \θ+2 \cos ^{2} \θ+\cos ^{2} \θ

=2+\cos ^{2} \θ

Since the minimum value of cosθ is –1, the minimum value of

2 \sin ^{2} \θ+3 \cos ^{2} \θ

will be

2+(-1)^{2}

=2+1=3
