A train without stoppage travels with an average speed of 80 km/h and with stoppage, it travels with an average speed of 72 km/h. For how many minutes does the train stop on an average per hour?

Solution:

Distance covered in one hour without stoppage = 80 - 72 = 8 km
Required time =

8/80×60

min. = 6 minutes
∴ Train stops for 6 minutes per hour.
