Solution:

Let marks scored by 1st student = x
⇒ Marks scored by another student = (x + 20)
According to question, ⇒

(x + 20) = 5 5 /100 × (x + x + 20)

⇒

x + 20 = 11/10 × (x + 10)

⇒

10x + 200 = 11x + 110

⇒

11x − 10x = 200 − 110 = 90

⇒

x = 90
