Given expression

=2 x^{2}-5 x-12

=2 x^{2}-8 x+3 x-12

=2 x(x-4)+3(x-4)

=(x-4)(2 x+3)

∴

(x-4)

and

(2 x+3)

are the factors of the given expression.
