Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people". He was the fourth President of the United States to have won the Nobel Peace Prize (after Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter).
