The 'Quit India Movement' was started on August 9, 1942. It is also known by the August Revolution. It was a violent movement. On August 8, a meeting was held at Gowalia Tank Maidan in Mumbai and Movement was planned to launch from August 9, but, all prominent leaders including Gandhiji were arrested. During this movement communication lines were interrupted and government buildings were burned by the nationalist.
