Maharana Pratap was the Rajput ruler of Mewar in 1976 who fought the Battle of Haldighati with the Mughal Emperor Akbar.
When his forces were defeated then he fled the field on his horse, Chetak. Akbar's forces were led by Man Singh I of Amer. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Amar Singh I.
