According to the question,

\;{x+140}/{90}=\;{x}/{70}

⇒ 70 x+140 × 70=90 x

⇒ 90 x-70 x=140 × 70

⇒ \;\; 20 x=140 × 70

⇒ \;\; x=490 {m}

∴

Distance between two stations

=x+x+140

=2 x+140

=2 × 490+140

=1120 {km}
