Solution:

Let the length of rectangle =

l

According to the question,
Perimeter of rectangle = 48
⇒

2 (l+ 10) =48

⇒

l + 10 =24

∴

l = 14\cm

Hence, area of rectangle

=l×b=14×10=140\cm^2
