A and B together do a job in 6.75 days and A could do the job in 9 days if he worked alone. How many days would B take to do the job if he worked alone?

Solution:

(A + B)’s 1 day’s work

=1/6.75=100/675=4/27

A’s 1 day’s work =

1/9

∴ B’s 1 day’s work

=4/27-1/9

={4-3}/27=1/27

∴ B will complete the work in 27 days.
